Manual Pad Opening Recap
Thanks to all 30+ skaters who showed up for the event and had a great time with us. We'll be shredding the box all summer and winter long so make sure you come back and share some good sessions. As for the event, we'll let the video speak for itself.
Ambition Manual Pad Opening
We are happy to announce that this saturday, we will be officially opening the new Ambition manual pad / grind box in Sherbrooke, Quebec. This box is not only good for skateboarding in the summer, but will also be transformed into a snowskate box this winter. The idea behind this project was to not only help the skateboard skate scene by adding proper obstacles to parks, but also give local snowskaters a legit spot to gather at during snow season. The concrete covered box is 12 feet long, 8 feet wide and 9 inches high. So whether you are a beginner or experienced rider, you are going to have a lot of fun.
Make it to the Montcalm skatepark this saturday at 1:00 for a lot of fun, prizes, and a high ollie contest.

Act Snowboard Interview

Spring Break oh11: First Try, One Warm Up
Bjorn is an official college graduate and I only go to college in the fall but somehow we managed to throw together another unofficial super-official spring break week. The weather was less than springy and do to Hoot's absence the debauchery level wasn't poppin off like last year, however we pulled together a 4wheeler, tall tees and jerseys, logs and brews to bring you Spring Break round 2.
I came to Montana intent on doing some good old fake snowboarding on the nice corrugateds and other jibs that the Whitefish park crew likes to hook up like a lil logo shaved cross the side of your head on the proper fade that is the fresh groomed snow, however the snow was sketchy and variable like that fade got chopped, so as hard as we tried at fake snowboarding we could never shake the fake part. Embracing the fake, we decided to do what we could do that the real snowboarders can't and throw our foot off into footplants and flip tricks.
We left for the weekend to go to Hurricane Ridge, Washington for arguably the funnest event in snowskating: The Olympics. Most of the event consists of bidecking and powderskating, however I did ride the powder chinese downhill on an extra wide Ambition. 30 skaters drop in at once down a 1000+ vertical drop bowl and I was the only one on a singledeck. The extra wide skate cruised like a champ and I just relaxed into a floating gangsta lean, straightlined the whole bowl and finished in the middle of the pack, leaving one bideck friend exclaiming, "Damn it I got beat by a Flatdecker." Indeed you did. On the second day of the event Bjorn, Jordan and I ventured off to the backside of the ridge to test the wide skate off the famous Hurricane Ridge cornice. The snow was bombholed from the previous day but we found enough soft landing spots to keep the session going until we had to catch our ride back to Idaho with Mark from Chillerdecks. Check it.
The next morning saw us heading back to Montana for a couple more days at the mountain. The weather was the opposite of springy with snow and fog but we still pulled together enough fake snowboarding to impress the strapped snowboarders. In fact, this fake snowboarding was the most legit you've ever seen because everything was first try with one warm up (or one more and one more if you call it!). So yeah, everything you see is first try.
Spring finally sprang as we were leaving so we did what any good backwoodsman would do and got out the good ol 4wheeler and rope for some old fashioned pond surfin. Walking away soaking wet was a good conclusion to a not-so-springy spring break. As I left for a night in the backwoods of Idaho on the way to Tahoe, Bjorn decided to do a bit of loggin and throw around some new tricks in the backyard. Winch Fun
Braden and I have been talking about using his winch to tow ourselves snowskating for a while now. In the middle of March just when we thought the snow was gone for good, it was back once again.
