Montreal-Toronto Trip Part 1

January 12, 2011 by Josh Seguin

Attention snowskaters!

Ambition, in very strong association with AKWD, will be bringing you a mini-series of snowskate videos based on our various trips in and out of Montreal.

The first filming session happened right after my last exam, december 20th. Braden and Evan, two up and coming snowskate punks, decided to come down to Montreal's illest apartment aka the Roby and Josh Pad. The plan was simple: to film as much as we could over the course of three days.

Day number one kept me from snowskating due to me having to be an academic-ish person in order to slay my test. The boys however wasted no time in stacking and had multiple sessions at spots close to our place. Namely a very standard, but oh so fun, flat rail as well as the infamous ''green-rail'' spot. After that,

it was time to pack up and go back at the castle for well deserved milk and cookies.

Day two, which was most probably the highlight of this mini-trip, saw us going to a very interesting spot in downtown Montreal. It was a very fun and productive warm-up session that lasted about 1 hour before we got kicked out which, in all reality, didn't matter much as we had already coped the tricks we wanted.

Next spot on the list was a snowskaters favorite, the ill-fated graveyard of the Olympic Stadium. Needless to say, it was a very good afternoon and we even got to give stickers and videos to snowboarders who were doing there binder thing. They were quite pumped on snowskating and excited to watch the movies.

Back at home, in respecting the traditions of every snowskater out there, we ordered 3 x-large pizzas, uploaded footy and talked about what we were going to ride the next day. Day two was a success!

For the last day, we had decided to go back to ''green rail'' as the first time it was so productive that we felt that we could do more. Unfortunately, we were all pretty worn out after the day at olympic and nothing got landed. Looking on the bright side, we still got practice so we had no reason to complain.

We then went on to go at my college campus, this place is a gold mine of spots, only to be kicked out after 3 tries on the most perfect hubba ledge i've seen. Finally, as last resort and being close to the Mont-Royal mountain, we decided to hike it and simply cruise around the trees; which ended up being

as fun, if not more so, than throwing eachother down 12 stairs. Last day ended up being as fun as the others, although I believe our Toronto friends were somewhat scared by all the ''rumored'' gypsies hanging out at our appartement that night.

Trip was fun, trip was sick, it was the first one, we got our tricks.

Enjoy our montage.

Just got back from our team trip in Detroit. Definitely had a great time and filmed some super sick shots for the new video. In the meantime, here's a fun montage of tricks that are not making the cut.
