From Aphrodite to Sparks
New server means more resources
Over the course of 4 years, the Ambition Snowskates website has been on three different servers. We were initially on Aphrodite but we were moved from the goddess of love and beauty to Shoshony. Whatever a Shoshony is, the name is slick! Just three days ago I received an e-mail from our host saying that we'd be moved to Sparks for security reasons. I took some precautions and today after it had happened, I checked the site and told Alex that "everything is fine".
You'd think so? It looks like the forum was the only part of the site that worked and that's where I told Alex it was a success! It took me two hours fix everything and by that I mean one line of htaccess. Clearly, if there's one programming language I would like to stay away from, it's got to be this one!
The good news is that in exchange for the inconvenience, we were upgraded to unlimited bandwidth and disk space forever in addition to the increase in security. In other words, better video quality for you!
What's to come?
With summer underway, changes will be less frequent but you can still expect:
- A new team page with the new riders
- A wrap-up of the year by Alex Blais
- Weekly or bi-weekly teaser videos (shhh it's still a secret!)
- Wallpapers to be added in the media section
Next season will be VERY exciting, I'll tell you that! We have more coming up but I would be a fool spoiling the fun. ;)
