exactly what i was thinking alex- i knew the snowskates couldnt look as horrible as "rodney" had said unless they were a defect. the snowskate in that picture looks amazing- the board he describes sounds like it's a first graders arts and crafts project.

Rodney, The team boards from the past two years have had the 'mirror finish' you mentioned. Yes, the perfectly smooth base if very fast but the board will not track to its full potential until its worn in a.k.a. some directional scratches have formed from regular riding. With that in mind. I believe the new finish will improve tracking and make it more consistent over the life of the board. Ambition has tested a variety of possibilities for the base, and I believe they have gone with what performs best. Yes, there is a visible texture created from the process, but it is like that for a purely functional reason. Once again, Ambition has prioritized the performance of the board above all, and that's what counts.
