Ralston Snowskates

Postby Justin Majeczky on Thu Mar 24, 2011 2:41 pm

Hello all! Since I don't see Ralston in direct competition with Ambition I thought I would post a review of their decks.

Last June I moved to Lake Tahoe California. Once the snow started falling Danny Sheehan hooked me up with a skate to try out. To my surprise they work amazingly good. I had only rode single decks and crappy burton / GNU double decks. They performed pretty bad. I couldn't even ollie with those things and they were sketchy to ride at the resorts to say the least. After the first time I saw the Ralston decks I knew instantly this was the real deal. The sub decks are made of super flexible bamboo and they also feature rocker trucks with these things called flex ramps.

The control you have while riding is pretty amazing. I can out run snowboarders on the hill all day long. They also ollie and kickflip like a dream. Its the closest skateboard like pop of any snowskate I've tried. I think Danny has a winning combination here. It's so fun to go to the local hill and be able to ollie and kickflip snowboard jumps as well as do ollie on park rails. Over all, if you are in the market for a double deck Ralston is hands down the best product I have ever tried.

ralstons are the shit. haha. i dont come on this forum often cause i ride a ralston and usually get insulted back to snowskaters.net by some 12 year old telling me what "real" snowskating is. but yeah, if you want a snowskate that ollies like a machine and something you can take to the resort than ralston is the way to go. mine is like 4 years old and still charges hard. i am getting a new one next season. i have some flat decks also but most of my skating is done at the resort nowadays. so much fun to haul ass and be in control. new ones look sick!

The only way that LiB's suck, if u don't have rocker trucks. Never tried a ralston, if I did I would care more about the trucks and sub. From what I heard the top decks r not that special compared to LiB's top deck. If only Ralston made a top deck similar to LiB's one day. Btw that pic with that long rail is sweet.
