i had a pretty decent idea. if you prefer to ride with the skateshoes and dont have the snowskate shoes im thinking about wearing extra pears of socks then putting my foot in a plastic bag so it keeps the water away from my socks and my feet. i havent tried it out yet cuz i havent gotten snow but im interested to see if it works...

It works, but it doesn't grip.

bad news... check out this thread (viewtopic.php?f=12&t=1830&hilit=) for info from a salesrep at Daddie's Boardshop. in short, Vans has a new paent company and they apparently aren't interested in making the shoes because they'll yield weak sales numbers. She does offer links to two pairs of new DVS snow shoes available though.

i've got a pair of DC miners. They're awesome! Good ankle support, great grip on bottom and water resistant and whatever. Not heavy compared to my hiking boots either..

and they were 25$ on black friday ;)
