Snowskating doesn't need concave just because skateboarding has it. They're two different sports.

It is true that they are two different sports, but If I could ride my skateboard in the snow my trick bag would be a lot larger with more steeze for snowskating than it is right now. The concave is totally preference and since I always rode a skateboard with major concave, getting a snowskate that matches that feel will only help me in the short term. Plus the concave option is still there, so whats everyone complaining about?

This shouldn't be a what's right vs what's wrong discussion. Some people like concave, others don't.

We can all still make our own concave anyways.

Simple as that.

Concave is still available... if you want it, it will cost you just as much as what you had anticipated to pay... we simply chose not to make it stock. simple

Is the base in the pictures finished? because it has little scratches everywhere. Also the shop photo's look like the base is not yet fully finished.

They've been basegrinded, that's why they look a little rough.

The boards are base ground as he said, like a snowboard. I have to admit tt's not quite as good looking as when they were shiny/mirror look, but this helps us equalize the die-cut graphic and actually slide even better because of the longitudinal texture.

Snowboard have the same process, icon does use that process.

The face that you create very little chaneel going front front to back make the board track and slide even better.

Like channels create less friction with the regular base, having a controlled scrached base make it even less friction somehow.

Anyway, Alex might have a better answer than me about that.
ast one is a personal pet peeve - the dog. No more dogs. Since the dawn of french Canadians filming snowskating, there have been too many clips of dogs in snowskate videos. - STEVEN SOCKNACKI

You guys are not using fucking logic. If you put a hundred grooves on a snowskate what happens? It becomes slow as shit. Why? Because the deepest part of the groove rests on the snow while the edges cave into the snow and act like brakes and slow the snowskate down. The bases are so roughly sanded that it does just that, it creates little mini grooves on the flat parts of the snowskate. Yes that does make it track like 1% better, but it slows it down more. Yes snowboard companies use this method of base grinding but they don't use sandpaper that fucking rough! Those snowskates look like they have been raped by the sidewalks, I'm starting to think you guys just found an asphalt hill and rode those boards down until they look like that and said you used a "base grinder”. The reason why base grinding works for snowboards is because they use finer sandpaper and they put WAX on their boards! The reason why the wax works is because it fills in those small mini groves and the mini grooves hold the wax well, so couldn't ambition just wax their bases??? WRONG! Their bases are made from a material that does not hold wax and even though they have millions of those scratches the material will not hold the wax and have no effect besides making the snowskate even slower. So Ambition, don't give me this shit that base grinding your snowskates makes them faster because you need a material that will hold wax.

Also you might say you do it so the die cut graphic does not stick out, well that does not mean you have to make the whole base look like it has been raped by a asphalt hill! Only base grind in that area, and use finer sandpaper damn it!
Before you all start thinking that I am wrong, really think about it and use your brains for once! Look at your snowskate (for those of you who have received anew one), what do you think about this "improvement".
