Besides the fact that hv's use mini dvs. I can't find much difference between the two? Can someone shed some light on this? the HF10 look nice, and is a little cheaper.

You should look at the HG20 too, it has a 60gb Hard Drive and is pretty cheap, and not to bulky.

Right on. I'm not too worried about bulkiness. I just want HD. Flip out screen. Changeable lenses. Easy connectivity to the comp. There are soo many choices for cameras i don't even know where to start.

What type of computer are you using? If your on a mac canon vixias can be a bit difficult I hear, but they can be used.

I'll be back and forth between a mac and windows vista. Probably mac more though. That's lame that they're hard to use with a mac...

I just realized you posted the same topic... :?

Although this is probably long gone, the hf10 is top notch. The clarity and coloring is superb, it fits on a baby death, and it's HD.

old thread but ive got a canon hf200 and macbook pro and its pretty easy to edit on once you format your camera to your mac. iMovie is actually really simple when you import footage straight from your cam. I would recommend it youd be surprised by the image quality you get from such a small camera.
