i was looking on the dc site
and they have like three pairs of water resistant
shoes that would be sick
i think my favorite would be the miners...
i haven't skated them but they look sick

they have... "revolutionary cold temperature rubber sole for enhanced traction in snow."

tkoyen wrote:yeah I'd like to know about the DVS shoes too... I take it they are just waterproof shoes though, not made for actual snowskating. The old Motleys are still like $50 and I can't really afford the Icos, even though they are totally awesome. are there any good, cheap alternatives? I heard DC boots work, but can you trick and stuff easy with them? I would think they would be kinda bulky. and what about like regular rubber snow boots?

the season is coming up here and I'd like to have my stuff ready before it snows so I can hit the park right away.

I have a pair of the DVS shoes that I used for skateboarding. So far I have only used them for pre-season but they are like any other skate shoe I have used snowskating. Slippy as a mother f**ker.

Now if I can only find a Canadian site that sells Vans ICO snowskate shoes. HINT HINT
Where are all the Ottawa snowskaters at?

DC H2Zero Alias

The newest DC H2Zero shoe, its made for all weather conditions... Tested for over like 200 days in Vancouver (apparantly, during the test, it rained 112 of those days) and they came out still comfy and still water proof

I like these shoes, but I can NEVER find them... even online, they are hard to find

Vans ICO IV (ICO 4)

Probably the most favourite shoe on these forums, they are made for snowskating. With the ankle gaiter (gator) to keep snow out of the tops of your shoes, which the DC H2Zero shoes DONT have (i think the ICO is the only show with it), and its water proof rest of the shoe, its been a Ambi team favourite for over two years...

Vans Motley

Kind of heavy compared to the rest of the shoes for snowskating (or skateboarding), but they have a really good grip on the board... A mediocre shoe, but if you want grip, then I'd suggest these shoes

DVS Militia (multiple variations of the Militia)

A pretty good shoe, but without the ankle gaiter, its just another all weather skate shoe

I hope this helps you out a bit... Ive seen all these shoes and worn them (havent owned them though... but have tested them, even the impossible to find alias) Id recommend what most people here would recommend... The Vans ICO IV...

peace
j

PS. Good sites to buy from, even for Canadians

http://www.tactics.com/vans/ico-iv-snowskate-shoes Only 78.50$ online, but free shipping starts at orders over 79$... you will pay shippin unless you buy something else

http://www.outdoorsportsguys.com/istar. ... -0F2R!VANS A bit more money, $90, BUT free shipping.... and for canadians, just change shipping if buying to canada, and then the provinces will show up in the "Select a State" list

you forgot to add the new Lakai's but i dont think anyones tested them yet,

but there is no possible way the motly is heavier than the ico, ive felt there weight side to side and the motly is deff lighter than the ICO

i got the Dvs snow series shoes and they were ok but they're like no better than just spraying waterproof stuff on your normal shoes. i would suggest the motleys or icos because they actaully have like inner layer that wont get your feet wet and its like the same stuff wet suits are made of.
