COSD Plastic snowskate

Postby Alex Blais on Sat Sep 29, 2007 7:32 pm

Hey guys,

You guys probably all know Charles-Olivier Simard, the greatest plastic snowskater ever...

Video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQHIhv-T7Qk

Ambition is currently looking into producing a pro model for Charles next season, wich would be a plastic deck.
Boards would be more advanced than the old 2002 plastic.. But they would have the same feel.

How many of you could be interested in purchasing his board if it was around 60$ CAD?

Cool idea.

I would consider getting one if you end up producing them. The only problem with the danger girls is they lose their shape and pop after a few solid weeks of riding. If this issue could be adressed, it would be a good board.

This would be the model:

- Same shape as the Danger Girls CODS rides
- UHMW base (harder so it wouldn't scratch half as much)
- Fiberglass layer to keep the shape
- HDPE core: Same feel and flex as the old Danger Girls
- Possibility of graphics

i would consider buying one. just for flip tricks. unless u made it solid enough so it doesnt flex at all when boardsliding. then i would definatley get one.

Flex is what makes plastic snowskates good. If they don't flex, it's pretty much useless.. Just get a wood

meh. some flex is good. would they have less or more flex than the fortrus line? or about the same. nevertheless .ill still msot likely buy one for messing around on and to support ambition.

Do you remeber premier r-1 (blue deck with the transformer graphics, 8" wide) or tl-6 (grey grip and tl-6 text, about 8.5" wide)? I think it was the 00/01 season... Those were the days, hehe. Two great boards but the r-1 had the same problem as the dangergirl, it losed it's pop pretty fast. I don't know what it was with the red tl-6, because mine hasn't lost it's shape or pop in the last 3 seasons I've ridden it (more or less). It's pretty similar to the first JP Walker promodel with it's size and shape, but won't lose the pop no matter how hard you ride :D . I'd say it's the best plastic snowskate so far. If you could make pretty much a similar board like tl-6 I'd say you'd make a nice profit, hehe.
